• The Israeli Labor Party, historically known as Mapai before its merger with other left-wing groups, is a center-left political party in Israel. It has played a pivotal role in the establishment and development of the State of Israel. The party's roots can be traced back to the labor Zionist movement, which emphasized both the importance of establishing a Jewish homeland and the centrality of workers' rights and socialist principles in building the new state. Over the years, the Labor Party has been instrumental in founding key national institutions, including the Histadrut (the General Federation of Labor), which played a crucial role in the country's early economic development.
  
  The values of the Labor Party are grounded in social democracy and Zionism. It advocates for a strong welfare state, aiming to ensure social justice, economic equality, and the protection of workers' rights.
